INTERESTING TOUCH ... Few things say brand loyalty more than a signet ring bearing a company’s logo. These rings feature etched and filled logos which really bring out the image. In five styles, three materials (silver, brass and stainless steel) and four standard sizes, each ring comes packaged in a presentation tin, which can itself be imprinted, too. Something like this could add a note of exclusivity to meeting sales goals (a sales club), exceeding them, beating a deadline, etc.

Subtle Upgrade ... As a promotional product, baseball-style caps are one of the most ubiquitous. And there’s a lot of them, too. OK, let’s get serious now. These caps, of 100% brushed cotton twill, feature a lightly quilted sweatband, eyelets and are totally adjustable. Nothing new yet, right? Patience… They also feature a rather unique imprint – a die-cast emblem of solid pewter or brass as opposed to embroidery. The total “look” really tends to jump out, and the emblems add virtually no extra weight to the caps. Oh – and in case you were wondering, they’re also very securely attached.

It Fits You ... You’ve already seen pens with semi-moldable grips, but “Q-Lever” is the first we’ve encountered that has an adjustable writing tip. Twisting the unit’s end cap literally rotates the pen’s point into whatever position’s most comfortable for the writer. Instant Nostalgia And Back ... The Then and Now series is undoubtedly one of the coolest lines of coffee-table history books to hit the racks for a long time. Each volume is dedicated to a major U.S. city (Chicago, St. Louis, Philadelphia, Atlanta and about 17 more) and features dozens of old photos of various locations, contrasted with shots of the same locations today. It’s a great way to see how our cities have changed and developed. And, unlike the full-retail bookstore version, these editions include a special bound-in page that includes your logo and message to the recipient. There’s a ballpark volume as well.

Stir It Up ... Well, it may not be as rhythmical as the Bob Marley/Johnny Nash song, but the “Stirrer Mug” is still an attention-getter. Of stainless steel and ABS plastic, it looks like most insulated travel mugs. The difference is inside. At the push of a rubber-coated button, the tiny plastic blades at the bottom (affixed securely, don’t worry) gently but completely mix whatever’s in the mug – coffee and cream, tea and milk, scotch and soda (for after hours) – with a whirlpool motion. Safety With Style ... Of anodized aluminum, this rescue flashlight offers all the important details, and manages to look good while doing it. Under the end cap – which also doubles as a car-window breaker – is a safety belt cutter. The unit also has a rubberized on/off switch, lanyard, spare bulb and is water-resistant. It uses two D batteries, is available in brushed silver or matte black with ring accent, and comes individually gift-boxed.

Real Earth Message ... If you’re after something truly unusual and unexpected for a mailing, ask your counselor about the “Greening Card.” It’s a ready-to-mail, postcard-sized, folded paper card that can be imprinted with a full-color logo and ad message. Once opened, the user is directed to remove a piece of board, which reveals a patch of soil impregnated with grass seed. With the addition of some water and sun, the grass sprouts in a few weeks, and can last all year with proper care.
